All items sold by Pirates Cove Arms are the unique handmade creations of Stan Pietrucki. The care and attention to historic detail he brings to his work is from over 40 years of woodworking and muzzleloading experience. Adding to his craft Stan also creates custom works of jewelery. Years of dedication to detail and passion for his craft has allowed Stan to provide the world with quality "antique" treasures, built to last generations. Stan's professional woodworking began in the 60's, but even as a small boy he had a love for wood: whittling pine animals, and eventually building his first lemon-wood long bow, complete with arrows, leather quivers, finger tabs, and arm guards. He eventaully moved on to furniture, jewelry chests, and more advanced wood carvings. In the 60's many hours of alert duty in the US Air Force led to advanced, professional wood carvings which he started selling to the general public. Also in the 60's a love of sail boat building began, with the construction of his first sailing vessel. Post Air Force years were spent working at two boat yards as a builder and opening a self-operated boat yard, The Schooner, which held a marine chandlery and his custom cabinet shop, Woodcraft Unlimited. In the early 70's Stan opened a muzzleloading supply shop, The Arms Room, and started builiding Kentucky rifles, pistols, war bags, and poweder horns. In 1974 Stan founded the local muzzleloading club, the Solano Muzzleloaders. In the late 70's the true pirate emerged. Along with the boat yard, marine chandlery, custom cabinet shop, and most importantly the muzzleloading shop, Stan started building an 18th century, two masted, 60' Pirate Schooner. Not only is the "Witch of Wood" sea-faring (to date 35,000 sea miles logged), she even carries eight bronze, fully-functional black powder deck cannons. "Pirates Treasure" entered the picture soon after the "Witch of Wood" made its maiden voyage. Diamonds, all precious and semi-precious stones, gold, silver, and sunken treasure coins led to the closing of the cabinet shop and the boat yard, but the opening of a custom jewelry shop, Pirates Cove. Since then, Stan's "Pirates Cove" has been the source of works of art in the form of custom jewelry and muzzleloading weapons. |
